I believe in stories.I grew up in my Nana's lap listening to her scratchy, southern twang bestow exhilarating and tantalizing tales. I was enraptured in a world of intertwined imaginations. I spent my afternoons expanding and reliving the stories of a mixture from my Nana's reality and my wild constructions.
My mother inherited my Nana's gift for capturing attention with words--a talent I force her to invoke anytime I visit home. "Tell me the one when you were in basic training--about the captain and the cologne?" I'll ask (it's one of my all-time favorites). |
Because I believe in stories. I believe stories are the essence of humanity, and any project to which I devote myself, I find myself there because of my passion for the story.
I believe filmmaking is unique because it allows a manifestation of so many elements of reality. Storytelling through film is a visceral experience, offering a sense of realism. I believe that every choice can alter and enhance the overall experience--and ultimately serves the story. I love stories because the good ones resonate at the most basic level of humanity. A good story can connect absolute strangers in very profound ways. I look forward to sharing stories with you. |
